What is your Padel Level?
The level system enables you to play balanced matches with other players in the Padel Club community. Ranging from 0-7, your level can change as your play matches. Here’s a quick breakdown of the levels:
1 (Complete Beginner):
? Completely new to racket sports and have never played Padel before
? No idea of the rules or scoring system
1 - 2 (Beginner):
? Haven’t played many games
? Still learning the rules and tactics
? Looking for other beginners to play with in a relaxed and friendly environment
2 -3 (Improver):
? Good understanding of the rules and tactics
? I’m sustaining longer rallies
? I’m starting to get a few lobs
? I am starting to use the glass
3 - 4 (Intermediate):
? I sustain longer rallies, consistent with my shots
? I go up to the net after a lob to attack
? I can do forehand and backhand volleys
? I let the ball pass and wait for the glass rebound
? I have control over shot direction and speed
4 - 5 (Advanced):
? Strong technical and tactical skills
? I switch effectively between attacked and defence
? I am using Bandejas and Viboras
? I vary between returns to the feet and the lob
? I can defend the double glass
? I can slow down or speed up the game
? I counter-attack the opponent’s smashes
5 - 6 (Advanced Plus):
? I have mastered the different forms of smashes - Vibora, Bandeja & out of court smash
? I regularly compete in local tournaments and competitions
? Strong tactical and technical skills across all areas
? Switch effectively between attack and defence to control the speed of the game
? I finish points by getting the ball out
? I can effectively use the glass and return shots to my opponents’ feet or as a lob
? I vary the different smashes depending on the game
6 – 7+ (Professional)
Choosing the correct rating will help ensure you play other Padel players of a similar ability right from the start. Once you begin to play open matches, your level will increase and decrease, as you win and loose matches accordingly.
