We’re excited to officially announce the Bay of Plenty Open 2026, hosted and organised by The Padel Club NZ in Papamoa, Tauranga. This is a club-run event sanctioned by Padel New Zealand and a Tier 2 tournament, meaning official Padel New Zealand ranking points will be awarded in line with national guidelines.

Registration Details

Entry Fee: $80 per player + Humanitix booking fee

Entries Close: Saturday 24th January at 9:00pm (or earlier if sold out)

Divisions
Important:
Entries are only confirmed once both partners have completed registration. Please coordinate with your partner and register together. If one partner registers and the event sells out before the second registration is completed, the team will be placed on the waitlist.
Tournament Format
Three-day event – Waitangi Weekend
Friday – Mid-morning to late:
Saturday – All day:
Sunday – All day:
The Women’s A & B Grade medal ceremony will take place on Saturday afternoon/early evening.
The Men’s A & B Grade medal ceremony will take place on Sunday afternoon/early evening.
Please note: schedules and times are subject to change depending on registration numbers.

Match Format

Pool play followed by knockout rounds

Two sets for pool matches, Round of 16 (where applicable), and quarterfinals (tie-break if 1–1)

Players must call the score clearly for officials and spectators

Player Licence Requirement
A Padel New Zealand Player Licence is required for all sanctioned events.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can enter?
Anyone with a valid Padel New Zealand player licence. Players may enter one grade only and are responsible for selecting the appropriate level.
I don’t have a partner – can I register?
You’ll need to secure a partner before registering. Your local club or padel WhatsApp groups may be able to help.
What equipment do I need?
A padel racket and court shoes. Padel balls are provided, with limited demo rackets available.
Are spectators allowed?
Yes — friends and family are welcome. Food and beverage options will be available.
